Our Campsite at Ponderosa Campground. The campsite was on the "funky" side, but we didn't care. It was great to stop driving and settle in for a bit. They did not have space for us to put up our portable electric fence so the horses are picketed for the first time ever! They adjusted very well to being picketed. As long as hay was available to much on, they were happy and watched with great curiosity all the comings and goings at the campground.

We did the sightseeing trails. Went to see the "Badger Caves". We rode along huge rock formations with caves in underneath. Bounty was a trooper and willingly took me right up to the caves for a closer look. We also rode down into the "canyon". Some of the steepest riding we have ever done. The horses picked their way carefully up and down, but they were tired and sweated up by the time we got back to camp. By then the picket line looked pretty good to them! And we were ready to chill out ourselves. After having dinner with new friends around the campfire, we went to bed early so we could get off to our next destination early in the morning.

These are cellphone photos - sorry for the blurriness - our good camera was back at camp today.
