The trip stats: Rig total weight with horses 19,500 lbs., total trip - 6500 miles (3000 to NM), 500 gallons of diesel, 150 lbs oats, 30 regular bales of hay +10 - 100 lb bales, 200+ miles on horseback, highest point - 9100' in Ruidoso, favorite rides - Ruidoso, N.M., Land Between the Lakes , Tenn., Hocking State Forest, Ohio.

We left on Sept. 28 at around 11:00 - we needed an extra day to pack. You wouldn't believe how much stuff we packed! And there was even room to spare. Thought about taking a couple of chickens so we could have fresh eggs, but decided that was a bad idea.
