The Bar 50 Ranch - as featured on "Best of America by Horseback"
The ranch is located in Bismark, AK. near Hot Springs.
The main lodge with dining area and guest rooms.
The campsites were very nice . The horses were in the corrals to the right - not quite as roomy as we'd like but they didn't care as long as there was plenty of hay & water.
The first day we rode with Jimmy Christmas and his friends.
Jimmy is scratching his head trying to figure out where we are - Good thing we have snacks with us....and the GPS !
It was heavily wooded and hazy so it was hard to see the view but here's a peek at the hills of Arkansas.
Miles of nice trails - some flat . . .
some hilly and then there was the rollercoaster trail which I didn't get any pics of because I was hanging on.
The second day we started out with a bunch of ladies from Texas that were camped next to us. We soon discovered that we rode at very different speeds and split off into 3 groups. One group had ridden enough and headed back to camp. They arrived there several hours after we did because they got lost and ended up on the rollercoaster trail. One lady fell off her horse on a very steep incline and broke several bones. Had to be evacuated by a mule!!
