General Horsemanship/ preparation for Trail Riding:
Private and semi group lessons teaching safety, equitation and horsemanship from novice to intermediate riders. Students must minimally be able to tack up and warm up their own horse; mount and dismount, ride simple figures at the walk, trot and canter and cool out and untack their own horses. Students will learn the following:
+ basic leg yielding
+ maneuvering around and through obstacles
+ horse soccer
+ how to deal with resistance from the horse when approaching unfamiliar objects
Enrollment in this course is a prerequisite for trail riding activities outside the ring.

Specialty Programs are also available for:
+ the rider who has become fearful due to a past experience
+ the rider who wishes to regain confidence and be able to return to riding.
+ adults who want to explore riding as a new pursuit
English and Endurance Saddles, Tack, and helmets are availabe for students use. Riders must wear appropriate shoes and pants.
All riders must sign a Liability Release Form
Weight Limits:
We are not able to accomodate individuals weighing over 250 pounds in any of our riding classes. According to safety standards set by horseman organizations and insurance companies, a person and their tack must not weigh more than 20% of the horse’s total weight.

Private lessons: $40/hour
Semi-Private Lessons (available by special request): $35/hour
